Practice Focus: Supporting the Body and Energy System in the Transition to Spring

Qi Gong, an ancient Chinese art and science for wellbeing, helps us slow down, connect with our bodies in the present moment through movement and breath, and refresh our minds, hearts and physical bodies.

In Chinese medicine, each season is associated with an elemental energy and an organ system. Spring is the season of the Wood Element, which is about renewal and growth. In this practice, we will work with a movement set designed to support the Wood Element. We will cultivate resilience, nourish the Liver and Gallbladder, and cultivate emotional states of generosity and creativity.

In this practice, we integrate stretches with deep breathing and flowing movements for powerful results. We finish the class feeling physically strong, mentally calm and emotionally balanced. We create alignment between our thoughts, emotions and actions.

This 90-minute session will incorporate standing movements and floor stretches/movements and will conclude with a seated or laying down meditation. It will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.

You will benefit from this event if you:

• Want to feel better in your body, i.e. less pain, more strength or flexibility

• You want to learn techniques for clearing stress from your body

• You want a calmer mind and more balanced emotions

• Want to learn tools for managing your internal state, so you can keep returning to peace, balance and groundedness.

Session details will be emailed to you after you register.

***Note that your phone number will be collected when you add this product to your cart. You will only be called if there is a problem emailing you the session details or if there is a change in the class status, based on circumstances like illness, weather, etc.
